Bluebrain | Year Two
We are proud to present the Year Two update to director Noah Hutton’s 10-year film-in-the-making that will chronicle the progress of The Blue Brain Project, Henry Markram’s attempt to reverse-engineer the brain, culminating in a documentary feature in 2020. If you haven’t seen Year One, you can watch that here. Enjoy the piece and let us know what you think.
The film is being produced by Noah Hutton’s production company, Couple 3.

It’s realy very disappointing that the film is so short, only 10 minutes if you remove the start & the end shell. I was so waiting for this part, and I expected much more than only 10 minutes, I wanted to hear more details.
Maybe what is more disappointing is the fact that the advance in the project was so small that it needed only 10 minutes to be displayed.
I hope that Year Three will be better than that.
Most of their advancements probably can’t all be incorporated in the simulation at once, given that they need more computing power.
Incredible! It’s so nice to see outside-the-box film-making about outside-the-box science.
Very nice…Can’t wait for Year 3-10

This is one of my new favourite videos! Well done, this was facinating.
Still, it makes me feel like a bit of a robot to see the function of neurons explained in such a way.

Precious piece of film! It seemed a bit short to me, though. It’s always awesome how mysterious the human body is, the deeper we get into it the less we know about.
Keep up the good work!

Could the films perhaps be made available in non-flash format? I prefer watching movies on my iPad, much more relaxing that way. im sure many others would like to do the same
nature has shown that brains come in many shapes and sizes, so i see no reason why yours won’t work. It might not be conscious, but it should be capable of some thought.
Can’t wait for the Year Three video. When will it be available? Thank you.
[...] Blue Brain | Year Two: Noah Hutton’s second film documenting year two in a ten year documentary about the Blue Brain Project.
